Our NSU Konsul I

top     top

These pages are dedicated to the history and restoration of our 1953 NSU Konsul I motorcycle and its Steib sidecar from 1955. This is not a project of the museum proper but of the museum and Society co-founder/director Robert Dulfer

The bike had been stored with a blown engine for at least 25 years, after the previous owner, (my brother) managed to brake a valve which destroyed the cylinder.

After his untimely death in 2010, I inherited the bike in its broken down state. The bike was transported in June 2012 to the Czech Republic, and early in 2013 restoration started.
